Heavy and Highway Division

    Lone Pine Construction’s Heavy and Highway Division specializes in the construction, renovation and rehabilitation of bridges, culverts and roads. Lone Pine is equipped to handle all types of roadway and bridge projects, from minor adjustments to total redesigns and/or replacements. The company’s previous experience with highway projects includes excavation; concrete abutments, piers and walls; curb and sidewalk replacement; drainage work; and correction of grades and alignment. Lone Pine Construction is equipped to handle all aspects involved in the construction of a safer and more efficient roadway. Past bridge and culvert work includes removal and rehabilitation, as well as new construction, of all types of bridges from overpasses to historic covered bridges.
    Members of Lone Pine’s Heavy and Highway Division have over 60 years of experience in the construction industry. On average, Lone Pine’s Heavy and Highway Division has completed over 10 jobs a year, with contracts ranging in cost from several thousand to over a million dollars.

Covered Bridges

    Lone Pine’s Heavy and Highway Division has worked on the rehabilitation and renovation of numerous covered bridges in the tri-state area. Many of these bridges are over 100 years old, so these projects have typically included extensive structural replacement. In order for these bridges to support the weight of modem vehicles, the Heavy and Highway Division has replaced the old wooden floor beams on the bridge deck with stronger steel beams. Projects have also included the repair and/or replacement of concrete abutments and piers, timber, roofing and siding on these bridges. Lone Pine also is regularly involved with area society representatives when working on the of covered bridges.
